Meet the Team

I love serving as a pastor at FBC Richmond Hill. The focus of my job is to connect people to the church through the organization of Sunday School and Life Groups, through service ministries, large events, conferences, teaching and preaching.

My Background
I was born and raised in Huntsville, Alabama. I went to Auburn University where I was a local director at a “Youth For Christ” in East Alabama. Moving back home, I spent the first 10 years of ministry in Huntsville. During that time I received my Master of Divinity degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Before moving to Richmond Hill I was involved in planting a church.

Why I Follow Christ
I follow Christ because when I am the king of my life I inherently mess everything up. With Jesus firmly in control I am free!

Ask me about
Be careful what you ask me…I am an open book. Try asking why my car tag says “Fray.”

My job is my dream job – working for my church and getting to share the love of Jesus with kids!  Whether it’s through Sunday School, AWANA, Vacation Bible School, Camp, or lots of other opportunities, we believe that kids learn through their play, and if we’re smart that’s how we teach them!

My Background
I’m married to Chuck and we have 3 teenage daughters.  (Yes, those are some grey hairs you see.)  We’ve been FBC members since 1998 and I came on staff in 2006.  I’m originally from Hueytown, Alabama and I have a Counseling and Guidance degree from the University of Montevallo.

Why I Follow Christ
Jesus is my Rock.  Everything good I have is from Him.  Why would I want to follow anyone or anything else?

Ask Me About…
Wonder Woman!  I love superheroes, Star Wars, Star Trek, and most areas of geekdom.  My husband also says I have a baking addiction.  I don’t think it’s a problem.

The Lord has called me to serve Him through the gifts of music, teaching, and mentoring others to worship, lead, and serve Him to build up the body of Christ. Leading others in worship is not a right; it is a great privilege, which we must not take for granted. I believe the future of the church is in intergenerational worship. “One generation shall commend Your works to another, and shall declare Your mighty acts.” (Psalm 145:4)

My Background
I am married to the love of my life, Debra. We have three grown children and five grandchildren. I received Christ as my personal Savior as a young child and felt the call to ministry as a teenager. I earned my bachelor’s degree from Indiana University, my master’s degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological seminary, and my doctorate from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Before coming to FBC Richmond Hill, I served as worship pastor in other states including NC and FL. I also served as the Associate Dean of Graduate Music Studies at Liberty University.

Why I Follow Christ
I owe Him my all. Jesus Christ is the center of my life and my hope for eternity. When Christ calls us to follow Him, it is the most important decision we make. As Dietrich Bonhoeffer says, “It is costly because it cost a man his life, and it is grace because it gives a man the only true life.”

Ask Me About…
Anything music, literature, worship, Kentucky.

I love pointing students to the power of God’s Word and the Gospel. Investing in the rising generations is critical for the advancement of the Gospel.

My Background
I am married to Stephanie and we have 3 wonderful children with one on the way. We moved here from North Georgia in July, 2017. I have been working with students full time since 2010 and doing ministry since 2005. I have a bachelors in Bible and I am currently working on a MDIV degree.

Why I Follow Jesus
God has transformed my life by his immeasurable gift of the Gospel. I follow Jesus, because He is Life, Hope and Truth.

Ask Me About…
Sports, books, music (I play cello), websites, my children or a cool Bible story.

FAQs
Have questions about Richmond Hill? Here's some of the most common ones. If we didn't answer yours, we'd love to help you! Shoot us a message on our Contact page or give us a call.

You can expect a family friendly atmosphere with a safe environment for you and your children, great Jesus focused worship in two different styles, a challenging message straight from the Bible, and friendly people ready to help you find anything you need.

You can also expect a diverse congregation of different ages, colors and ethnic origins all worshiping God together. You can expect to see some people dressed up, and some people dressed down.

Kids seem to be a common companion to lots of folks so we have choices for them and you.  During our Worship Services, we have Children’s Church for ages 6 weeks to Kindergarten for the entire service.  For 1st through 3rd Grade, the kids enjoy the music with their parents and are invited to go to Children’s church after the music. There is a volunteer with a sign and a gaggle of excited kids… they can follow the crowd.  If you prefer however, your kids are welcome to stay with you.

Yes, for the kids and students, we have age appropriate classes at 10:10 AM.  For the adults, we have Life Groups also at 10:10 AM.
